Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red colour. Rich, concentrated nose of dense, jammy
blackcurrant and Morello cherry aroma with a hint of liquorice, a subtle
fragrance of violet and an aura of herbal, minty and balsamic scents.
The palate is smooth and round, with a velvety texture and beautifully
integrated mature tannins. The long finish is full of flavours of plum,
cassis and dark chocolate and ends on an attractive dry note. A
wonderfully mature and seductive LBV, perfect for immediate enjoyment.

Serving Suggestions
Romariz LBV is the perfect finish to any meal. It does not need to be
decanted and should be served in a generously proportioned wine glass so
that its rich fruity nose can be enjoyed to the full. Excellent with fully flavoured
cheeses, especially blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort. It is also delicious with
desserts made with chocolate or berry fruits.

Background Information
The house of Romariz was founded in 1850 by Manoel da
Rocha Romariz, who came from a well known Oporto family.
Its main trading partners in those days were Brazil, the Portuguese
colonies and to a lesser extent England. Over the years Romariz
developed a very important market in Portugal where it enjoyed a very
high reputation for quality. In 1966 the Romariz family retired from the
business and sold the brand to Guimaraens & Cª who continued to
cultivate the Portuguese and certain export markets. In 1987 Romariz
became part of an independent British Group.
